Well, actually there’s my regular column, Craft Matters: How to Build a Craftsperson

and the shout-out from my friend Nancy LaFevre for Bunster in her article The Joys of Having Your Pet at Work”.

Yes, that’s BUNSTER in the picture!

Author: Luann Udell

I find it just as important to write about my art as to make it. I am fascinated by stories. You can tell when people are speaking their truth--their eyes light up, their voices become strong, their entire body posture becomes powerful and upright. I love it when people get to this place in their work, their relationships, their art. As I work from this powerful place in MY heart, I share this process with others--so they have a strong place to stand, too. Because the world needs our beautiful art. All of it we can make, as fast as we can! Whether it's a bowl, a painting, a song, a garden, a story, if it makes our world a better place, we need to do everything in our power to get it out there.

  1. Your column made me chuckle, and it also gave me something to think about, as your writing always does. Thank you for sharing your clear thinking.

By the way, I refer to myself as an “artisan” for the very reason that I couldn’t come up with a “craft-y” word that fit as well, and “thingmaker” just sounds odd in English!

  2. I have the best tip for you when you drop a bunch of little things. Put a stocking over the end of your vacuum nozzle and vac them up. Keep the power on until you hold them over a bowl and then turn it off. Too easy!

I found you recently and you have changed my life!
